TRANSMISSION

ECE’s Transmission Department provides end-to-end engineering and project management for overhead and underground transmission lines ranging from 35 kV to 230 kV.

ECE designs, upgrades, and relocates transmission systems for utilities and cooperatives, adhering to NESC and RUS standards. Our expertise includes line routing, pole and foundation design, and structure type selection (wood, steel, concrete, or ductile iron) based on environmental and operational criteria.

The Transmission team also manages project documentation—plan and profile drawings, staking sheets, sag/tension reports, and as-built records—and provides construction inspection and field verification.

We coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to obtain crossing permits for DOT, railroads, waterways, and pipeline corridors. ECE’s deep understanding of cooperative and investor-owned utility requirements makes them an ideal partner for clients seeking reliable, maintainable, and cost-efficient transmission systems. The department collaborates closely with ECE’s Substation, Siting, and Survey teams to ensure full project alignment from concept to energization.
