SITING SERVICES

ECE’s Siting Services Department provides site selection, environmental documentation, and permitting support for substations and transmission projects up to 230 kV.

ECE’s siting specialists assist clients from the earliest stages of project development—evaluating potential sites, performing feasibility studies, and preparing permitting documentation for federal, state, and local agencies. Services include site layout, grading, erosion and sediment control, wetlands delineation, rezoning applications, and environmental reporting.

The department also performs route studies for transmission and distribution corridors, conducting GIS mapping and impact assessments to balance engineering feasibility with environmental and community concerns.

ECE’s staff hold landscape architecture and land-surveying licenses in North and South Carolina, giving the firm in-house capability to prepare and stamp design documents required for permit approvals. Our collaborative approach between siting, survey, and right-of-way teams ensures a smooth transition from feasibility to construction, minimizing schedule risk and ensuring compliance with environmental and zoning regulations.
