Lumbee River EMC Industrial Substation

With an actively growing industrial market in the Carolinas and many bringing a large power demand, we have had many opportunities to provide professional services in supporting the energy demands to support such projects. One example project was at an Industrial Substation project for Lumbee River Electric Membership Corporation to support a new industrial large power load.

Challenges faced with this project included not only the large power requirements, but also the delivery voltage, lot size limitations, and designing the station for flexibility and contingencies to ensure reliable service. Being an industrial load served directly from the substation structure, it was also necessary to design a method for connecting eight cables per phase. In addition to substation design services, we provided siting, environmental, professional surveying, and controls design services.

With strict timing requirements of the project, Wrike project scheduling software was useful in tracking progress and keeping track of projected milestone dates.
